Health Insurance Agent Training Program


Health Insurance Associates Inc, located in Brookfield, WI, is a small family owned company looking to grow by adding a full time health insurance agent.  If you’re new to the industry, have limited industry experience, or have the knowledge but are new to sales, we will train and mentor you until you are ready to begin selling on your own.  The goal of this program is for you to learn the business from the ground up, and help you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a successful health insurance agent here at Health Insurance Associates.

When the time comes to end the program and begin your sales career,  your main focus will be employee benefits for small businesses with 2-99 employees.  You will generate new leads, acquire new clients, and maintain your growing block of business in order to meet established fiscal year production goals.  This will require implementing self-directed marketing plans, cold calling, scheduling client appointments, putting together proposals, and conducting formal client presentations.  To help with these responsibilities, HIA’s professional service team will provide you with support for new business sales as well as future renewals.


About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 1+ years of proven successful sales or insurance experience

  • Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge

  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines

  • Efficient at multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast paced environment

  • Work well independently or with a team

  • Good Listening skills and ability to evaluate clients’ needs efficiently

  • Dynamic communication and presentation skills

  • Aptitude for rules and regulations

  • Tech Savvy - computers, cell phone apps, internet navigation, google apps

  • Means to conduct local travel required


What You’ll be Doing

Working with one of our current agents, you will shadow, participate, and assist throughout the entire sales process.  This will include cold calling, scheduling appointments, quoting, putting proposals together, sales presentations, installation of new clients, employee meetings, ongoing customer service, as well as the renewal process for existing clients.  As you learn and become comfortable, responsibilities throughout this process will be delegated to you to handle until you know the entire process, inside and out.  Once we mutually agree that you are ready, you will begin selling on your own!  But don’t worry, we’ll ALWAYS be here to mentor and do what we can to help you succeed.
