Information:

Short Term Medical - Gap insurance for 30-364 days.
Click the link below, enter your zip code and select continue.  Enter your family information and dates you are looking for coverage.  You can elect between 30 and 364 days.  If you elect 364 days you also have the option for one guaranteed renewal.  Once you have entered your information, click continue to see plans and prices.  The two most popular plans and the ones we recommend are the $2500 and $5000 deductibles with no charge after you meet the deductible.

These plans utilize the Aetna network which include all the major healthcare systems here in southeastern Wisconsin, and also have a national network with coverage up to $1,000,000.  To qualify you have to be within their standard height/weight ratio guidelines and must be able to answer no to all of their medical questions.  They do not cover pre-existing conditions, preventive care, mental health, maternity, or prescriptions.  Other than that, the policy is comparable to any other coverage out there.

The link below will take you to the quoting page for all the products above.  Enter your personal information and select "View Plans".  All the available plan types will be shown in tabs across the top.  If you are looking for short term medical coverage, this is the first page that is shown, and the plan we recommend is the "Short Term Medical Plus."  Click on "Details" for any plan that says "Short Term Medical Plus," which will take you to the quote.  You will be able to modify the plan within the quote.  The set up we recommend is either the $2500 or $5000 deductible with a $2000 out of pocket maximum, and the single payment.  The reason we recommend that plan and those deductibles is that if you go higher in benefit, the additional price outweighs the additional coverage, and if you go lower, you don't save enough to justify the loss in benefit.  These two deductibles account for 100% of our short term plans placed.  You can pay monthly as well but if you are able to pay the whole term up front they give you a 25% discount, and you can cancel early if need be with a pro rated refund.

Dental & Vision Insurance
Dental:  If you’re looking for a full coverage dental plan, we recommend the Enhanced Plan.  It matches up fairly close with a typical employer sponsored plan.  You will have coverage right away for your preventive care and basic services such as fillings, but one thing you have to be aware of is that there is a 12 month waiting period for major services if you do not have prior coverage.  It will show which services are subject to the waiting period on the quote.

Just so there is no confusion, this is straight from the brochure:  “Any waiting periods will be waived for you if you were covered under another comprehensive dental-insurance plan for at least 12 months before you enrolled in this plan – but only if there was no more than a 63-day gap between your previous plan and this plan. (You may have to supply information about your previous plan to make sure you qualify for waived waiting periods.)”

If you’re looking for more of a preventive care only plan, we would recommend the Delta Dental Individual & Family - Low Plan.  They cover fillings after a 6 month waiting period, cleanings, x-rays, and your other basic preventive services, but nothing major.

Vision:  Both vision plans offered are good plans with no waiting periods.  The Essential Plan most closely resembles what is typically offered through an employer sponsored vision plan.  The Brilliance Plan is similar, but with higher allowances and lower copays for those looking for a higher level of coverage.

For both dental and vision, you can enroll right through the quote.

Travel Insurance
These are two separate companies that offer almost identical plans.  In fact, depending on your area, HTH will even direct you to the GeoBlue website for quotes.  If you're picking a plan that is offered by both companies, quote both companies, because the prices may be different.  One popular item that HTH has that GeoBlue does not is trip protection that will pay out a benefit if the trip is canceled.  In most situations, the GeoBlue Voyager Choice, HTH Travel medical, or the HTH Trip Protection Plan will be the one for you.  The others are more specialty plans.
